Over October Half Term, Archaeodiscovery were back running HALF TERM DIG SCHOOL for children aged 7-12 yrs.
Participants work with experienced professional archaeologists, DIGGING, MAKING and DOING.
The dig school is a two-day adventure in archaeology, where children experiment with a range of archaeological techniques. Emphasis is given to exploring ideas practically, using inspiring materials and looking at the processes of contemporary archaeologists working today.
Through a mixture of structured and open-ended activities this Half Term we explored Maps and the SILK ROADS!
And of course there was lots of digging and discovery!
The focus of dig school was on working together, inspiring playfulness and inquisitiveness, through which children can make friends, learn new skills and grow in confidence.
